Here is a winter view of the roadbed at Pierceville Bridge in Wyoming County, Pennsylvania.  You have a good look at the big Tunkhannock Creek below.

In the summers, back in the Sixties, we used to jump into the creek from this side of the bridge.

The poor bridge has been condemned now.  It has been there since 1881.  It has historical value because of the construction technique introduced in the 1870s.  That's why there is now Tourist interest in the bridge.

But we didn't know that when we were teenagers.  We just drove over it and jumped off of it like generations before us had done.

I took my girls up here in July 2005.

There were a dozen kids ( teenagers ) jumping off the bridge when we pulled up to take a look.

love the Susquehanna river basin.  Truly beautiful area!
I used to really enjoyed the ride up to Williamsport when I was servicing Clinical lab equipment.

To bad they messed up Wiliamsport and turned it into a little baltimore... crime, slums and all!

Yes, I heard that about Williamsport.  The whole country has been invaded.

A zillion years ago in 1974 I used to drive semi-loads of milk from the farmlands of Pennsylvania and Upstate New York down into New York City---The Big Apple.  I used to go through Central Pennsylvania and over Hairy John Mountain.

Shoo-Fly Pie Country....

I had returned from San Antonio and was trying to get myself back to Texas.

Years ago, back in 1978, I used to spend time in Reynosa, MEXICO.  I got myself an old time Hotel room and walked the streets, hung out at the Plaza, and went to the movies and tried to understand the dialogue.  I got the idea....

I actually drove over there ( in my Company Oilfield car against company policy! Big Grin.....with a loaded gun under the seat!!!  Mouth Taped Shut  )
